Public Transport Interchange improvement works in Tsing Yi gazetted

     The Government published a notice in the Gazette today (May 22) on works to facilitate the Public Transport Interchange Improvement and Lorry Park Conversion Project on Tsing Yi Island.

     The proposed works include construction of a carriageway  approximately six metres wide connecting the existing carriageway and the proposed green minibus terminus; construction of a footbridge with associated staircase, lift and escalators connected to the public transport interchange / commercial development; construction of a staircase, a green minibus terminus and lay-bys; permanent closure of a traffic island, and sections of the existing carriageway and footpaths; and ancillary works such as landscaping, drainage, electrical and mechanical works, construction of a traffic island and a lift.

     The plan and scheme of the works are available for public inspection at the following government offices during office hours:

(i)  Central and Western District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, Unit 5, G/F, The Center, 99 Queen¡¦s Road Central;

(ii) Kwai Tsing District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, 2nd floor, Kwai Hing Government Offices Building, 166-174 Hing Fong Road, Kwai Chung; and

(iii) District Lands Office, Tsuen Wan and Kwai Tsing, 10th-11th floors, Tsuen Wan Multi-storey Carpark Building, 174-208 Castle Peak Road, Tsuen Wan.

     Any person who wishes to object to the proposed works or the use, or both, should write to the Secretary for Transport and Housing, 16th floor, Murray Building, Garden Road, Hong Kong, on or before July 21.
