Tai Kok Tsui food premises ordered to suspend business

     The Director of Food and Environmental Hygiene has ordered a food premises in Tai Kok Tsui to suspend business for 14 days for repeated violations of the Food Business Regulation.

     The food premises "Supreme Hot-pot", on ground floor, Chow Shing Kee Commercial Building, 25 Tong Mei Road, was ordered to suspend business from today (May 10) to May 23.

     "In January last year and February this year, there were two convictions in respect of unauthorised extension of food business at the food premises," a Food and Environmental Hygiene Department spokesman said.

     "A total fine of $5,000 was levied and 30 demerit points were registered against the licensee under the department's demerit points system. The contraventions resulted in the 14-day business suspension."

     He said the food premises also had two convictions in February and November 2007 for the same offence.

     "A total fine of $3,000 was levied and 30 demerit points were registered against the licensee. The breaches led to business suspension for seven days from February 13 to 19 last year," the spokesman said.

     He reminded licensees of food premises to comply with the Food Business Regulation, or their licences could be suspended or cancelled.
