****************************************************

In view of the declaration of the state of emergency in Bangkok by the Thai Government, a Government spokesman today (April 12) advises Hong Kong residents who plan to visit Bangkok to seriously consider adjusting their trips to Thailand, particularly Bangkok, for the time being.

Those who are already there should pay close attention to the situation there and stay away from large crowds or protesters.

Residents who need assistance while outside Hong Kong may call the 24-hour hotline of the Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit of the Immigration Department at (852)1868.
