Police are investigating a homicide and suicide case in which a couple died in Tai Po yesterday (April 4).
About 6.55pm on April 4, a 42-year-old woman reported to Police that her parents were locked inside their home in Yee Lai House, Yee Nga Court.
When Police entered the flat, they found the injured couple, an 81-year-old man and a 79-year-old woman lying unconscious in their bedroom.
The couple was taken to Alice Ho Miu Ling Nethersole Hospital where they were subsequently certified dead.
Initial enquiries showed that both of them sustained stab wounds to their chests. Police believed that the woman was suspected of stabbing her husband before hurting herself. A chopper and a fruit knife were located at the scene.
A post-mortem will be conducted later to ascertain the cause of death of the couple.
Investigations by District Crime Unit of Tai Po are under way.
