The Government today (March 27) announced that the Chief Executive had re-appointed Mr Lee Kai-ming and the Managing Director of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) as the Chairperson and the Deputy Chairperson of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Advisory Committee.
At the same time, the Financial Secretary, in exercise of the authority delegated by the Chief Executive, has appointed Ms Ng Wai-yee, to the advisory committee. The other eight re-appointed members of the Committee are Mr Chan Kin-por, Mr Bob Chong Hot-hoi, Mr Albert Ho Chun-yan, Mr Lam Yim-nam, Mr Stanley Lau Chin-ho, Mr Leung Fu-wah, Mr Alvin Wong Tak-wai and Mr V-Nee Yeh.
All the appointments will take effect from Monday (March 30) for a term of two years.
While expressing gratitude to the outgoing member Mr Wong Kwok-kin for his invaluable contributions to the advisory committee over the years, a government spokesman said the Government was confident that the new membership of the committee would bring new insights to the healthy development of the Mandatory Provident Fund System.
The advisory committee is a statutory body established under the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance which advises the MPFA with respect to the operation of the Ordinance as well as the effectiveness and efficiency of the MPFA.
"With employer and employee representatives as well as professionals from different sectors, the Government is confident that the advisory committee, under the leadership of Mr Lee Kai-ming, will continue to offer valuable advice to the MPFA and contribute to the effective implementation of the Mandatory Provident Fund System continuously," the spokesman said.
