The Housing Authority's Subsidised Housing Committee (SHC) today (March 27) endorsed the findings of the review of Waiting List (WL) income and asset limits for 2009/10.
Derived from the established review mechanism, the income and asset limits for 2009/10 will be increased by an average of 3.3% and 0.6% respectively. For four-person households, the income limit will increase from $15,300 to $15,800 and the asset limit will go up from $373,000 to $375,000. (Please refer to the attached table for details.)
"The new set of income and asset limits will take effect on April 1, 2009. It is estimated that some 113,000 non-owner occupied households in the private sector would be eligible for public rental housing, up 3,600 from the current 109,400 households," the Chairman of the SHC, Professor Anthony Cheung Bing-leung said.
