Four men arrested in connection with Mong Kok bank burglary

     Police last night (March 10) arrested four expatriate men in suspected connection with a bank burglary case in Mong Kok last Thursday (March 5).

     Four South-American men were suspected to have sneaked into the safe deposit box area of a bank on Nathan Road in Mong Kok on March 5 and burgled some of the safe boxes. They were believed to have fled along Nathan Road towards Playing Field Road and got onboard a taxi or other means of transport in the vicinity of Playing Field Road after committing the crime.

Following extensive investigations, officers of Regional Crime Unit of Kowloon West (RCU KW) arrested the four expatriate men aged between 32 and 52 in Wan Chai and Yau Ma Tei last night. A subsequent search in their hotel rooms resulted in the seizure of about $1.2 million worth of suspected stolen valuables.

The four men were arrested for burglary and they are detained overnight for further enquiry.

Investigations by RCU KW are continuing.
