At the invitation of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, the Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, will visit Beijing from March 3 to 6 to attend the opening ceremony of the second session of the 11th National People's Congress on March 5. Mr Tsang will also conduct official meetings and visits while in Beijing.
Accompanying Mr Tsang on the visit will be the Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, Mr Stephen Lam; the Director of the Chief Executive's Office, Mr Norman Chan; the Director of Information Services, Mrs Betty Fung; the Private Secretary to the Chief Executive, Mr Kenneth Mak; the Senior Special Assistant to the Chief Executive, Mr Chan Kin-ping; and the Assistant Director (Media), Mr Vic Yau.
Mr Tsang will take vacation leave from March 9 to 10. During his absence, the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Henry Tang, will be the acting Chief Executive.
