CS' transcript of standup briefing after attending the Liaison and Co-ordinating Meeting of Hong Kong, Guangdong and Macao (with video)
**********************************************************

Following is the transcript (English portion) of a standup briefing by the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Henry Tang, after attending the Liaison and Co-ordinating Meeting of Hong Kong, Guangdong and Macao in Jointly Taking Forward the Implementation of "The Outline of the Plan for the Reform and Development of the Pearl River Delta" today (February 19):

Reporter:  (... anything about environmental protection during the meeting and Macau Government has denied entry of a Hong Kong journalist ...)

Chief Secretary for Administration: Your first question regarding whether we have discussed environmental protection, and the answer is yes. This is an area where we feel that Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macau, the three places have a lot of complementarity and have a common goal of achieving sustainable development. So this is an area we have gone into great details and we will issue the details of our discussion later on today. You can get all the details in it. I would like to stress that it is an area where we feel very, very important and is also an issue we want to be included in the 12th five-year plan as what we call "Àu½è¥Í¬¡°é" (developing the PRD region into a green and quality living area).

(Please also refer to the Chinese portion of the transcript.)
