The festive dance event ¡§Dance Day¡¨, organised by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department, will be held on Saturday (February 21) at the Tsuen Wan Town Hall. The event will run from 12.30pm to 5pm and admission is free. Veteran dancer and actor Lau Siu-ming and young dancers will perform at the opening ceremony.
A free shuttle bus service is available from Tsuen Wan MTR Station to Tsuen Wan Town Hall from noon to 4pm on Saturday.
People are invited to join the fun-filled dance carnival. Programmes will be staged in different areas of Tsuen Wan Town Hall including plaza, auditorium, exhibition gallery, foyer, and footbridge featuring dance performances, opening parade, workshops and games stalls. More than 10 local dance groups will bring different kinds of dance to the event ranging from contemporary Chinese dance, modern dance, environmental dance, tap dance, street dance, Jazz to Hip Hop.
Participating groups are Ho Ho Chuen Dance Organisations and Yuen Hai Artiste Troupe of Association of Hong Kong Dance Organisations, DanceArt Hong Kong, Hong Kong Dance Company Children's Troupe & Youth Troupe, Made in Hong Kong@Four Gig Heads, Ming Ri Institute for Arts Education, Rhythm & Tempo, Rico Tsoi Dance Centre, School of Dance, The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, Unlock Dancing Plaza, Y-Space, Crossover B-boy and more than 100 secondary students.
For those interested in dance workshops, free tickets will be distributed from 1.30pm at the enquiry counter on Saturday on a first-come-first-served basis. Each person is limited to a maximum of two tickets per workshop for two workshops of different sessions. No ticket is required for other activities.
