The Labour Department and the Hong Kong Federation of Restaurants and Related Trades will hold a two-week job fair at the Recruitment Centre for the Catering Industry from February 16 to 27, providing more than a total of 2,000 vacancies for job seekers.
This recruitment event is co-organised by the Labour Department and the Hong Kong Federation of Restaurants and Related Trades for the first time. Eighteen companies from the catering industry will set up counters for on-the-spot recruitment. Vacancies offered cover a wide variety of positions such as restaurant manager, captain, cook, bartender, waiter/waitress, dish washer, storekeeper, reception trainee, shop assistant, packer, cook (bread), cashier and clerk. Job seekers who want to know more about the vacancies may visit the department's website on Interactive Employment Service (www.jobs.gov.hk).
The vast majority of the vacancies offered are full-time jobs requiring Form 5 education level or below. Monthly salaries range from $6,000 to $12,000. Most of the vacancies are open to job seekers without relevant experience. Job seekers may submit applications on the spot and may be selected for on-site interviews. The Labour Department will conduct on-the-spot registration for job seekers.
The job fair will be held from February 16 to 27 (Monday to Friday) from 10am to 4pm at the Recruitment Centre for the Catering Industry, 34/F, Revenue Tower, 5 Gloucester Road, Wanchai. Admission is free. Reservation and enquiry hotline: 2594 7800.
