Report of students passing oil after consumption of fish fillet

     The Centre for Health Protection (CHP) of the Department of Health today (February 9) received report of a group of students who passed oil after consumption of fish.

     The case affected 18 girls aged from 11 to 12. They had fish fillet dinner at a restaurant in Stanley Bay on February 5 and subsequently had abdominal pain and passed oil after the meal. Two of them consulted private doctors and did not require hospitalization.

     CHP has referred the case to the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department for follow up action.

     Investigation is on-going.
