The Lands Department registered 35 lease modifications and three land exchanges in the Land Registry during the quarter ending December 2008, of which 28 were for residential purposes and 10 for non-residential development.
Among these 38 land transactions, 15 are located on Hong Kong Island, 17 in Kowloon and six in the New Territories. The transactions exclude Small House cases.
Another two lots were granted by private treaty during the period. One was for an electricity substation in Kowloon and the other one was granted to the Hong Kong Housing Authority in respect of existing public housing development.
A spokesman for the Lands Department said today (January 15) that the 40 land transactions realised a total land premium of about $1.55 billion.
Transaction records of the lease modifications, land exchanges and private treaty grants including those registered recently are uploaded onto the Lands Department's website (www.landsd.gov.hk) on a monthly basis. Further case details may also be obtained by searching the registered documents directly at the Land Registry.
