Police are investigating a traffic accident in Yaumatei this (January 5) afternoon in which an 82-year-old man died.
About 2.07pm, a double decker bus driven by a 54-year-old man was traveling along Nathan Road southbound. When it stopped at a bus stop outside No. 486, Nathan Road, the old man fell onto the lower deck of the bus when he went downstairs.
The old man sustained head injuries and was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he was later certified dead at 2.43pm.
The bus driver was arrested for dangerous driving causing death and he was released on bail pending further enquiries.
Investigations by Special Investigation Team, Traffic Kowloon West are underway.
