The overall Comprehensive Social Security Assistance (CSSA) caseload in November showed an increase of 1,141 cases over October, representing an increase of 0.4%, according to the latest CSSA caseload statistics released today (December 31).
Total CSSA caseload at the end of November stood at 284,182 (see attached table), with 475,052 recipients.
Analysed by case nature, unemployment cases showed an increase of 1.4% in November to 31,442.
Low earning cases showed a month-to-month increase of 1.0% to stand at 16,188.
Single parent cases registered a month-to-month increase of 0.5% in November to 36,216.
Both old age and ill health cases rose by 0.2% to 151,753 and 24,490 respectively.
Total government expenditure on CSSA payments was about $18 billion for 2007-08.
