The Government published a notice in the Gazette today (December 24) on proposed road works to facilitate the West Rail Tsuen Wan West Station TW5 property development and improve the traffic in the adjacent areas.
Proposed works include construction of four covered footbridges with associated foundations and supporting columns connecting the Future West Rail Tsuen Wan West Station TW5 Property Development to the adjacent areas; construction of an open elevated driveway with associated foundations and supporting columns underneath Tsuen Wan Road; construction of two sections of carriageways, one at the northbound of Tai Ho Road and the other at the eastbound of Tsuen Wan Road near Tai Chung Road Interchange; construction of a temporary slip road at the westbound of Tsuen Wan Road near Tai Chung Road Interchange; permanent or temporary closure and reconstruction of sections of the existing footpaths, carriageways and landscaping areas; and ancillary works including drainage works and construction of retaining walls.
The plan and scheme of the works are available for public inspection at the following government offices during office hours:
(i) Central and Western District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, Unit 5, Ground Floor, The Center, 99 Queen's Road Central;
(ii) Tsuen Wan District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, 1st Floor, Tsuen Wan Station Multi-storey Carpark Building, 174-208 Castle Peak Road, Tsuen Wan; and
(iii)District Lands Office, Tsuen Wan and Kwai Tsing, 10th Floor, Tsuen Wan Station Multi-storey Carpark Building, 174-208 Castle Peak Road, Tsuen Wan.
Any person who wishes to object to the proposed works or the use, or both, should write to the Secretary for Transport and Housing, 16th Floor, Murray Building, Garden Road, Hong Kong, on or before February 22, 2009.
