The Government today (December 19) announced the following re-appointments and new appointments of members to the Consumer Council for a term of two years with effect from January 1, 2009:
Mr William Chan Che-kwong
Dr Polly Cheung Suk-yee
Prof Ron Hui Shu-yuen
Mr Philip Leung Kwong-hon
Mr Michael Li Hon-shing
Mr Thomas Cheng Kin-hon (new appointee)
Mr Bankee Kwan Pak-hoo (new appointee)
A government spokesman said, ˇ§We are delighted that the five incumbent members and two new members have accepted the appointments. We are confident that their expertise and experience will be invaluable to the work of the council in promoting consumer interests.ˇ¨
Incumbent council members Mrs Christine Fung Tam Pui-ling and Mr Homer Yu Sau-ning will complete their terms on December 31. ˇ§We would like to express our gratitude to them for their contribution to the council's work in the past years,ˇ¨ the spokesman said.
The appointments are published in the Government Gazette today.
