S for S: International co-operation vital in fight against terrorism (with photos)

     The Mumbai terrorist attacks clearly show the importance of close co-operation among law enforcement agencies around the world in the fight against international terrorism, said the Secretary for Security, Mr Ambrose S K Lee, today (November 27).

     Speaking at a meeting with the Japanese Minister of Justice, Mr Eisuke Mori, in Tokyo, Mr Lee said he was pleased to see that there had been close co-operation between the law enforcement agencies of Hong Kong and Japan.

    "This is particularly important for both sides to be able to effectively combat international terrorism as well as money laundering and drug trafficking," he said.

     Mr Lee said he looked forward to enhanced exchanges between the law enforcement agencies of both places in the future.

     Today, Mr Lee also met the Director-General of Japan¡¦s Immigration Bureau, Mr Katsuyuki Nishikawa, and visited the National Police Academy of the National Police Agency.
