Sister Wetland Affiliation Programme's student exchange visit

     A group of 50 students and teachers from six schools in Hong Kong and Singapore who participated in the exchange visit under the "Sister Wetland Affiliation Programme", shared their experience on wetland conservation in the Hong Kong Wetland Park today (November 25).

     The programme is jointly organised by the Hong Kong Wetland Park of the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department and Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve of National Parks Board in Singapore.

     Highlight of the programme is the exchange visit between schools and wetland parks/reserve in Hong Kong and Singapore, in November 2008 and February 2009 respectively.

     During their visit to Hong Kong from today to Thursday (November 25-27), students will share and showcase their study results on rubbish problem, biodiversity investigation, water quality for tourist attraction, adaptation of exotic species, as well as research on development of education trail. Then they will visit Mai Po Nature Reserve and partnership schools in Hong Kong.

     The schools from Singapore include Pei Cai Secondary School, River Valley High School, and Raffles Institution; while the Hong Kong schools include Immaculate Heart of Mary College, St. Paul's Co-educational College, and Queen Elizabeth School Old Student Association Secondary School.
