The Secretary for Security, Mr Ambrose S K Lee, continued his visit to Seoul today (November 25), meeting the Commissioner of the Korea Immigration Service, Mr Choo Kyu-ho.

Mr Lee noted that the Republic of Korea was among the first countries to grant visa-free access to HKSAR passport holders after the reunification on July 1, 1997. Since February 1, 2002, it has extended the visa-free period for HKSAR passport holders from 30 to 90 days.

"Greater travel convenience enhances the economic, social and cultural ties between the two places," he said.

"I look forward to even closer co-operation on immigration matters between Hong Kong and the Republic of Korea in future."
