The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) will continue to consult the District Councils for implementing more minor works projects so as to meet the demand of local communities, an LCSD spokesman said today (November 21).
The spokesman said that as at October this year, the District Councils have approved funding for the LCSD to implement over 300 minor works projects. These projects, including leisure facilities, are being completed gradually.
The LCSD will submit to the District Councils for approval shortly several dozens of minor works project items to be carried out at the existing venues. It also plans to carry out minor works projects in more than 30 new open spaces, he said.
The spokesman stressed that in order to ensure the earliest completion of the projects, the LCSD will discuss with the works departments and contractors responsible for the projects on means to speed up the progress.
