The Correctional Services Department Sports Association will hold its 56th Autumn Fair in Stanley on Saturday (November 22).
The theme of this year's fair is "More Caring, More Harmony", a reflection of the Correctional Services Department's commitment to seek community support for rehabilitation of offenders.
Fifty-six years after it was founded in 1953, the popularity of the fair endures. Arts and handicrafts, toys, rattan and wooden furniture made by prisoners, and other products will be on sale at about 40 stalls. All proceeds from the sales will go to charities, including prisoners' welfare services, which provide an opportunity for prisoners to contribute to the community.
The fair's varied entertainment programme includes pony rides, a new fund raising activity for this year; a marching band display, lion dance, training demonstration of guard dogs and a lucky draw.
The fair will run from 11am to 5pm on the football field next to Stanley Prison. People are welcome to share in the fun and contribute to charities. Admission is free.
The venue is accessible by bus routes 6, 6X, 63, 73, 260 and 973 and green minibus routes 40 and 52.
