The two-day auction for stalls at the Victoria Park Lunar New Year Fair was conducted smoothly. A total revenue of $6,266,130 was brought, compared with $8,283,600 last year.
Out of the 482 stalls at the Fair, 428 stalls, including 260 for dry goods, 164 for wet goods, one for thematic dry goods and three for fast food were successfully let out during the open auction at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium.
The second day auction for the 298 dry goods stalls was held today (November 13) with 260 stalls being let out. Today's auction attracted around 1,200 participants. The successful bid prices for the stalls ranged from $8,760 to $39,500, with an average at $13,308, which is about 1.5 times of the opening price of $8,760.
Auctions of stalls for Lunar New Year Fairs in Kowloon and the New Territories will start tomorrow (November 14) and November 24 respectively.
