Assault on Hon Lee Cheuk-yan not acceptable

     A government spokesman today (October 25) said that the assault on the Hon Lee Cheuk-yan was not acceptable.

     "The case is now under investigation by the Police.

     "Hong Kong is a peaceful and lawful society, and we do not accept such a violent act.

     "We express our sympathy to Mr Lee." The spokesman said.
