Five arrested for theft of gold bullion

     Police today (October 15) arrested five people for theft of $179 million worth of gold bullion from a listed company.

     A report was made to Police earlier this week that a batch of gold bullion was found missing from the vault of a listed company.

     Officers of the Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB) took over investigations and arrested three men and two women in Hung Hom area this morning.

     The five people, who were staff members of the company and aged from 45 to 68, were arrested for theft and are still being detained for further enquiries.

     Investigations by CCB are under way.
