Since the No. 8 Northeast Gale or Storm Signal was issued at 6pm today (September 23), all ferry, tram and peak tram services and most bus services have been suspended.

MTRC adjusted the frequency of the rail services starting from  8pm. Rail services are now running at intervals ranging from five to 20 minutes.

As at 10pm, the Highways Department has received seven cases of fallen trees, causing road closure or affecting the traffic of the Route Twisk, South Lantau Road, Sha Tin Road, Lam Kam Road, Sha Tau Kok Road, Tai Po Road and Castle Peak Road. The Leisure and Cultural Services Department has received three reported cases of fallen trees in Kowloon.

The Buildings Department has received three collapsed scaffoldings cases, one on Hong Kong Island and two in Kowloon.

The Home Affairs Department has opened 27 temporary shelters and as at 10.30pm, 262 people have sought refuge at the shelters.

A total of seven people, four males and three females, aged from 19 to 67, have sought medical treatment at the Accident and Emergency Departments at public hospitals.

As at 10pm, only two flooding cases were reported at Heng Fa Chuen, Shing Tai Road and Ka Yip Street in Chai Wan.

However, owing to the combined effect of Hagupit and high tide, flooding is expected overnight in low lying areas including Sheung Wan.

Drainage Services Department (DSD) has activated Emergency Control Centre and set up a special team to monitor the flooding situation of Sheung Wan and to assist the residents throughout the typhoon period when required.

     No landslide cases was received.
