Update on requests for assistance from HK residents affected by fire in Shenzhen

     Referring to the fire that broke out at a club in Longgang, Shenzhen on September 20, a Government spokesman said that the Immigration Department of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government received one more request for assistance this afternoon (September 23).

     The case involved a Hong Kong resident who was injured and admitted to hospital.

     This brings to a total of seven cases involving the death of five Hong Kong residents and two others injured in the fire.

     Immigration officers of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Guangdong (GDETO) have contacted the Hong Kong resident.

     Any Hong Kong residents who need assistance may contact the Immigration Department's "Assistance to Hong Kong Residents Unit" 24-hour hotline at (852) 1868. The Immigration Department will closely liaise with the GDETO to render all practical assistance to any Hong Kong residents who need help.
