Due to heavy traffic, the vicinity of Container Port Road South and Container Port Road in Kwai Chung is very congested and traffic queue on Tsing Kwai Highway ends at Ting Kau Bridge. At the same time, the traffic on Kwai Chung Road Mei Foo bound is also busy with traffic queue ends at Tuen Mun Road near Yau Kom Tau. Frequencies of bus services travelling along the above roads are affected.
Meanwhile, traffic at San Tin Highway and San Tin Roundabout are congested due to large amount of vehicles heading to Huanggang /Lok Ma Chau checkpoint.
The Transport Department advised that motorists and container truck drivers should avoid driving to these areas if possible. Members of the public are also advised to take rail service and listen to TV/radio broadcasts to obtain the latest news on road conditions.
