Latest public transport situation (up to 8.30am)

     Public transport in Hong Kong has resumed to normal today (August 23) after the typhoon.

     All public transport services, including MTR, New World First Bus, KMB and Citybus services, Peak Tram, Tramways, Lok Ma Chau-Huanggang Shuttle Bus (Yellow Bus), New Lantao Bus Company and ferry have resumed normal.

     The upper deck of Tsing Ma Bridge and the Shenzhen Bay Bridge are reopened.

     The Transport Department said traffic around the container port in Kwai Chung would be busy today.  Motorists and container truck drivers are advised to avoid the area if possible.

     Members of the public should contact public transport operators for specific service details and remember that, although the situation is returning to normal, some delays may occur.  They are advised to be patient.

     They are also advised to listen to TV/radio broadcasts to obtain the latest news on road conditions.
