Two people were injured when a scaffolding collapsed at Fuk Wing Street, Sham Shui Po earlier this (August 22) afternoon. They were sent to hospital for treatment.
Education Bureau announced that classes of all schools, including evening classes, are suspended today.
All through train services have been suspended from 3.30 pm. All ferry, tram and peak tram services and most bus services have been suspended since 10 am today. MTRC services are maintained at 10-minute intervals. All Cathay Pacific and Dragonair flights have been suspended from around 2 pm. As at 2 pm, 308 passenger flights have been cancelled or delayed while nine flights were diverted. For cargo flights, 28 have been cancelled or delayed.
At 3.30 pm, the Regional Tree and Landscape Sections of the Leisure and Cultural Services Department has received 33 requests for emergency assistance concerning fallen trees and trunks on roadside. They included 11 requests in Hong Kong region, seven requests in Kowloon region and 15 requests in the New Territories region.
In addition, 11 reports of dangerous sign, six reports of fallen external wall and three reports of collapsed scaffoldings have been received by the Buildings Department.
One report of landslip case in Tai Po Road has been received, while there was no flooding report.
As at 2.30 pm, 197 people have sought refuge at 24 temporary shelters of the Home Affairs Department since Northwest Gale or Storm Signal No. 8 was issued today.
