British logistics company, Global Transport Logistics, today (August 7) announced its expansion into Asia Pacific with the establishment of Global Transport Logistics (Asia) Limited, the company's regional headquarters for the Asia Pacific.
Based in Teesport, Middlesbrough on the Northeast coast of England, Global Transport Logistics specialises in providing bespoke logistical solutions for a wide range of customers, from manufacturers to retailers and wholesalers. The company's primary focus is to enhance customer service. It will provide local expertise in freight, customs and logistics, improving controls at both ends of the supply chain to deliver a world class service from Asia to Europe.
Its team in Hong Kong is responsible for managing a global network of agents, servicing clients, dealing direct with shipping lines, suppliers and the company's UK office. The company plans to steadily build the business in line with growth in the region and employ an additional three to four staff in the next 12 months.
Managing Director of Global Transport Logistics in the UK and Asia, Mr Gary Smith, said, "Hong Kong was identified as the ideal location to set up our regional headquarters for the Asia Pacific. Hong Kong has a world renowned business culture and a can-do attitude very similar to the business culture in Middlesbrough where Global Transport Logistics was originally formed. Our business in the UK has grown rapidly in the past two years, thanks to a reputation for high service levels and outstanding customer relations. Global Transport Logistics was formed in May 2006 and started trading in June of that year. Its subsidiary, Global Transport Logistics (Asia) Limited (GTL Asia), was established in Hong Kong in July 2008.
