Three employers fined for breaching MPFS Ordinance

The following is issued on behalf of Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority:

     Three employers were fined at the Kwun Tong Magistracy today (August 4), after being convicted of offences under the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Ordinance (Cap 485).

     All three defendants were charged under Section 7A(8) of the ordinance.

     Creation One Fashions (HK) Limited pleaded guilty to six counts of failing to make MPF contributions for an employee within the prescribed time for the contribution periods between December 2007 and May 2008, and was fined $6,000 for the first summons and $2,600 each for the remaining summonses, totalling $19,000.

     Vevion Hong Kong Limited pleaded guilty to four counts of failing to make MPF contributions for an employee within the prescribed time for the contribution periods between December 2007 and March 2008, and was fined $6,000 for the first summons and $2,000 each for the remaining summonses, totalling $12,000.

     Gain Profit International Holdings Limited trading as Body & Soul Square pleaded guilty to one count of failing to make MPF contributions for an employee within the prescribed time for the contribution period in June 2007. The defendant was fined $6,000.
