Immigration officers participate in attachment programme (with photo)
*********************************************************

Two Immigration Officers left for the Mainland today (July 27) on a four week attachment programme.

Before they left, the two officers, Mr Johnny Ho Cheuk-lun and Mr Brian Yung Wai-keung, met Assistant Director (Control) of the Immigration Department, Mr Chan Man-lang.

With the success of previous exchange programmes, an attachment programme is being co-organised by the Hong Kong Immigration Department and the Bureau of Entry and Exit Authority (BEEA) in Beijing. The programme is reciprocal with two officers from the Immigration Department attached to the Beijing Capital International Airport and two officers from the BEEA attached to the Hong Kong International Airport.

The aim of the programme is to provide participants of both sides with the opportunity to learn from each other in terms of efficiency and personal capability, and bring the experience into practice in their own workplace.

Mr Chan said co-operation and communication between the department and the relevant Mainland authorities were increasing. "The attachment programmes are highly desirable in facilitating the exchange of knowledge and sharing of experience between our officers and their Mainland counterparts," Mr Chan said.
