The following is issued on behalf of the Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority:
The Mandatory Provident Fund Schemes Authority (MPFA) today (July 21) obtained orders in the District Court against two employers for payment of outstanding MPF contributions at about $430,000.
The court issued judgments against Shun Wai Moulding Design Factory Limited and David Y K Wong & Lee Kwok Chuen Architects & Engineers. The defendants were ordered to pay the MPFA $362,022.32 and $71,298.78, being mandatory contributions in arrears and surcharges payable to five and three employees of the defendants respectively.
The amounts awarded at the District Court will be reimbursed to the employees¡¦ MPF accounts as soon as they are received by the MPFA. The District Court ordered the defendants to each pay costs of $930.
