The Lands Department registered 56 lease modifications and three land exchanges in the Land Registry during the quarter ending June 2008, of which 46 were for residential purpose and 13 for non-residential development.
Among these 59 land transactions, 33 are on Hong Kong Island, 19 in Kowloon and seven in the New Territories. The transactions exclude Small House cases.
Another three lots were granted by private treaty during the period. They were granted to Hong Kong Housing Authority in respect of existing public housing developments.
A spokesman for the Lands Department said today (July 15) that the 62 land transactions realised a total land premium of about $0.6 billion.
Transaction records of the lease modifications, land exchanges and private treaty grants are uploaded onto Lands Department's website (www.landsd.gov.hk) on a monthly basis. Further case details may also be obtained by searching the registered documents directly in the Land Registry.
