Following is a question by the Hon Cheung Hok-ming and a written reply by the Secretary for Transport and Housing, Ms Eva Cheng, at the Legislative Council meeting today (June 25):
Question:
Will the Government inform this Council of the following information concerning the concessionary bus fare schemes provided by various franchised bus companies as Appendix 1;
(a) Concessionary Bus-Bus Interchange schemes provided in 2006, 2007 and 2008 (up to March 31) respectively;
(b) The Same Day Return Discount ("SDRD") provided in 2006, 2007 and 2008 (up to March 31) respectively to passengers using Octopus cards; and
(c) Information on the total amount of fare reduction borne by various franchised bus companies as a result of the above concessions.
