The Islands District Office has immediately activated the Emergency Command Post at Tai O to provide assistance for residents since the Hong Kong Observatory issued the No. 8 Storm Signal.
The Emergency Command Post will continue to operate even after the cancellation of the No.8 Storm Signal, and the temporary shelter at Tai O Rural Committee will remain open.
A spokesman for the District Office said, "Up till now, the Emergency Command Post at Tai O and the temporary shelter have not received any request for assistance."
The spokesman added that the District Office will continue to monitor the situation closely and co-ordinate with other departments to meet the needs of the Tai O community.
