    The Chief Executive, Mr Donald Tsang, tonight (June 24) makes the following statement:

    "On June 12, the Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, Mr Fred Ma, told me that he had to resign because of his health conditions. I have since discussed with him in depth twice and fully sympathise with his situation. I shall forward his resignation to the Central People's Government for consideration forthwith. My heart is with Mr Ma and his family and I wish him a speedy recovery."
