Acting Principal Immigration Officer, Mr Wong Yin-sang left today (June 14) for Illinois, US, to participate in a three-week training programme.
The objective of the training programme is to broaden the global horizon and enhance the officer's career development.
Mr Wong will attend the Executive Development Programme (EDP) run by the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University, which is designed for middle management executives to enhance their interpersonal skills and leadership ability.
At a briefing with Mr Wong, Director of Immigration, Mr Simon Peh Yun-lu, said that in view of the growing complexity of immigration work, members of the service were required to adhere to the changing global political and economic situation closely and acquire contemporary management theories.
