SLW visits Hong Kong Confederation of Trade Unions

    The Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, visited the Hong Kong Confederation of Trade Unions (CTU) this evening (June 6).

    Mr Cheung met with the Chairman of the CTU, Mr Cheng Ching-fat, and more than 20 representatives of the CTU to discuss a range of labour issues.

    Mr Cheung listened to the views of the union members and briefed them on the Government・s latest efforts in protecting the rights and benefits of workers and promoting labour relations and employment services, as well as occupational safety and health.

    The visit was part of the Secretary・s latest round of liaison visits to the major labour unions.

    :Through these visits, I hope to strengthen communication and co-operation with the labour sector in fostering labour relations, safeguarding employees・ rights and enhancing their safety and health at work.
