The Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) announced today (May 30) that the Marine Police and Government Flying Service had completed searches in the nearby waters of 10 gazetted beaches and two water sports centres in the Southern District over the past three days and confirmed that no shark had been sighted.
These beaches and water sports centres are Shek O Beach, Deep Water Bay Beach, Repulse Bay Beach, Middle Bay Beach, South Bay Beach, Chung Hom Kok Beach, St. Stephen's Beach, Big Wave Bay Beach, Stanley Main Beach, Turtle Cove Beach, Stanley Main Beach Water Sports Centre and St. Stephen's Beach Water Sports Centre.
Shark flags at these 10 beaches and two water sports centres have been lowered. Services provided at the two water sports centres have been resumed.
Swimmers are advised to swim within swimming zones to ensure safety.
