The Transport Department said today (March 27) that driving licence holders could use a personal identification number to renew full driving licences in an easy and more convenient way.
"Licence holders will receive a Renewal Notice and Application Form with a personal identification number (renewal password) printed on it from the Transport Department before the expiry of their driving licences," a spokesman for the department said.
"With the renewal password, the licence holder will not be required to produce a copy of identity document when applying for renewal by post or use an e-certificate for authentication of identity when making application for renewal through the Internet.
"The department will send the new licence to the licence holder by registered post within 10 working days upon successful renewal."
