The Government intends to carry out dredging, management and capping of a sediment disposal facility within an area of approximately 222 hectares of foreshore and sea-bed east of Sha Chau to provide a facility for meeting the sediment disposal demands of construction and maintenance works within Hong Kong.
The work is scheduled to start in August 2009 and to be completed by August 2018.
The extent of the area affected is described in a notice published in the Government Gazette today (March 20).
The notice together with its related plan can be seen near the site. The plan can also be seen at the Lands Department Survey and Mapping Office, 23rd Floor, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point, and at the Tuen Mun District Office, Public Enquiry Service Centre, 2nd Floor, Tuen Mun Government Offices, 1 Tuen Hi Road, Tuen Mun.
Any person who considers that he has an interest, right or easement in or over the foreshore and sea-bed involved may submit a written objection to the Director of Lands, 20th Floor, North Point Government Offices, 333 Java Road, North Point on or before May 20, 2008.
