Members of the public are invited to the Exhibition of Secondary School Students' Creative Visual Arts Work (2007-08) at the Education Bureau Kowloon Tong Education Services Centre.
The exhibition, held by the Arts Education Section of the Curriculum Development Institute, Education Bureau, aims to provide an opportunity for students to demonstrate their creativity and artistic ability in visual arts creations, and promoting educational exchanges among students, teachers and the public.
This year, more than 580 works of art are displayed. These exhibits have been selected from about 1,200 entries submitted by 144 secondary schools. The artwork covers different topics and a wide range of art forms and media such as drawing, painting, printmaking, digital art, photography, sculpture, ceramics and design.
Also on display are nearly 100 examination scripts including drawing, painting and graphic design for Visual Arts in the 2007 Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination.
In the exhibition, each piece of art comes with the artist¡¦s statement, which provides viewers with more information for appreciating and interpreting the work.
Apart from the artwork, video recordings of interviews with students and teachers are played during the exhibition. They share how their art-making activities have been enriched by their daily lives and their art appreciation experience.
Admission to the exhibition is free.
