A clubhouse operator was fined $1,000 today (February 6) at the Kowloon City Magistrates' Court for contravening the Clubs (Safety of Premises) Ordinance.
The court heard that officers of the Office of the Licensing Authority of the Home Affairs Department inspected a clubhouse in Sim Shae Sui last September. The officers found that the layout of the premises deviated from the registered drawing without permission.
The operator was in contravention of the conditions of the Certificate of Compliance and subsequently charged under section 21(1) and (5) of the ordinance.
The department will continue to take strict enforcement action in non-compliance cases.
