The beginning of the Year of the Rat promises to be an exciting one for 600 students from Tin Shui Wai as they have been invited to the 2008 Lunar New Year Soccer Display Match at Hong Kong Stadium on Thursday (February 7).

Wing Lung Bank, which is sponsoring the 2008 Lunar New Year Soccer Invitation Tournament to mark its 75th anniversary, has offered free tickets to 600 students in Tin Shui Wai to watch the match and $100 red packet money each, totalling $60,000.

Speaking at a ceremony today (February 5), the Secretary for Labour and Welfare, Mr Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, praised Wing Lung Bank for being a good example of corporate social responsibility by offering students in Tin Shui Wai the chance to share the joy of the tournament.

"Not only will the students feel the care and warmth of the community, they will also be able to enhance their interest in soccer as a sport," he said.
