Housing Staff praised for "walking an extra mile" (with photos)
********************************************************

Nine teams of Housing Department officers today (February 4) received awards from the department for "walking an extra mile" in providing services to tenants in public rental housing.

These services include the provision of free WiFi facilities in 129 public rental housing estates, the implementation of the Total Maintenance Scheme and the micro-climate studies for public housing development.

On another occasion, officers of the department had helped a 67-year-old man to locate his brother in Hong Kong from whom he had been separated for more than 30 years.

At a ceremony this afternoon, the Permanent Secretary for Transport and Housing (Housing), Mr Thomas Chan, said the award was simple but meaningful, representing the department's appreciation and recognition of staffers' efforts in rendering more customer-friendly services to public housing tenants.
