The Leisure and Cultural Services Department today (January 24) announced that the Hong Kong Central Library and other public libraries, except North Lamma Library and South Lamma Library, as well as Mobile Libraries 1 to 9 would close at 5pm on Lunar New Year's Eve (February 6). As Mobile Library 10 is undergoing maintenance works, its service will be also suspended.
North Lamma Library will close at 4.30pm, while South Lamma Library will be closed on Chinese New Year's Eve as it falls on its regular closing day.
All public libraries, mobile libraries and students' study rooms will be closed during the Lunar New Year public holidays from February 7 to 9.
As the lifts in Fa Yuen Street Municipal Services Building will be out of service due to suspension of power supply during the Lunar New Year public holidays, the Fa Yuen Street Public Library's book drop service on the fifth floor will also be temporarily suspended during the holidays.
