More than 220 disciplined staff of the Immigration Department were today (January 18) awarded Hong Kong Immigration Service Long Service Medals and Clasps. Another 225 disciplined staff received medals or clasps last Friday (January 11).
Awards were presented at Immigration Headquarters today by Deputy Director Mr Peh Yun-lu.
Mr Peh expressed his appreciation to award recipients who had dedicated long years of loyal service to the department, displaying exemplary performance.
The award of the Hong Kong Immigration Service Long Service Medals and Clasps was to honour those with exemplary character and conduct who had rendered long and meritorious service as members of the Immigration Service.
Assistant Principal Immigration Officer Miss Wan Shiu-mei and four other officers were awarded the third clasps to their medals for 33 years of dedicated service with the department.
The Second clasps, signifying 30 years of service, were presented to Chief Immigration Officer (Systems Support (Applications and Investigation) Section) Mr Chan Yum-chuen and seven other officers.
Acting Chief Immigration Officer (Extension Section) Mr Tam Hong-chung and 117 other officers received the first clasps, marking 25 years of service.
A total of 93 other officers received the Hong Kong Immigration Long Service Medals which marked 18 years of service.
Mr Peh congratulated all recipients and thanked them for their many years of loyalty and dedication to the Immigration Service.
