The Financial Secretary has appointed Mr Benjamin Hung, Chairman of the Hong Kong Interbank Clearing Limited (HKICL) (Designate), to succeed Mr He Guangbei as a member of the Risk Management Committee (RMC) of the Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) for a term of two years with effect from Sunday (January 20).
The appointment was made under the Securities and Futures Ordinance.
The chairmanship of Mr He at the HKICL will expire tomorrow (January 19), and he is succeeded by Mr Hung from Sunday (January 20).
The RMC was established in March 2000, with the statutory role of formulating policies on risk management matters relating to the activities of HKEx and its subsidiaries for consideration by the board of HKEx.
The RMC is chaired by Mr Ronald Arculli, Chairman of HKEx. Apart from Mr Benjamin Hung, other members of the RMC include Professor Chan Ka-lok, Mr Marvin Cheung, Mr Fong Hup, Dr Bill Kwok, Mr Edmond Lau and Mr Keith Lui.
